DFA launches new, streamlined website

Redesign focused on customer experience, improved navigation

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (September 5, 2024) – The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) today announced the launch of its newly designed website, https://www.dfa.arkansas.gov/. This site includes the wide range of services the Department provides. This includes all services related to state income tax and sales tax, state budget, accounting, motor vehicle administration, driver services and regulation of alcohol, lottery, tobacco, medical marijuana, casino gambling, horse racing and child support enforcement.

“From checking the status of a tax refund to ordering a replacement driver’s license, the DFA website serves thousands of Arkansans every day,” said DFA Secretary Jim Hudson. “In this redesign, we listened to the needs of our customers and encouraged feedback from employees. The goal of the new site is consistent with our guiding principle, providing those we serve a great experience. Although the site is live, our work to improve and streamline services remains a DFA priority moving forward. Feedback from our customers is always appreciated.”

In addition to customer and employee feedback, the design team closely monitored analytics of the previous website for months to determine the key services to highlight on the home page. As a result, Arkansans will find four prominent tiles on the page: Citizens, Businesses, Taxes and Drivers.  Arkansans also will have easy access to the state budget, current revenue forecast, past 12 months of monthly revenue reports, a pie chart explaining the budget by category and a wide variety of state accounting documents.

“Arkansans may interact with DFA in several ways throughout the year,” said Secretary Hudson. “It might be registering a vehicle, renewing a driver’s license or ID, paying child support or filing income taxes. We are continuing to find ways to provide and enhance these services online. For example, there are numerous Revenue Office services that can be completed from the comfort of home. I encourage Arkansans to visit the new site and discover the many ways they can save their most valuable resource, time.”

The new website also incorporates a chatbot feature for various vital services.

DFA has approximately 2,260 employees across all Divisions. The Department maintains offices throughout Arkansas, including 134 State Revenue Offices.
